OVERVIEW
Lost In A Rush Of Emptiness is the 2023 debut album from London-based band Bleach Lab. Blending dream pop and indie rock, the record unfolds as an ethereal journey through fragile relationships, emotional vulnerability and the weight of external pressures.
Across eleven tracks, the band crafts a hazy, enveloping atmosphere, shaped by the disctinctive airy vocals of Jenna Kyle. Soft yet expansive, the album balances dreamy melodies with emotionally heavy themes, creating a world that feels both fragile and weightless.
PRODUCTION
The album was recorded at Eastcote Studios in London and produced by Catherine Marks. The record leans into layered arrangements where guitars, bass, drums, synths, and cello gradually build a full, rounded sonic palette.
The songwriting plays a central role throughout the record. Drawing from personal experiences as well as imagined perspectives, the lyrics explore obsession, addiction, fractured relationships and emotional vulnerability through vivid imagery and narrative detail.
Jenna's vocal interpretation carries that emotional weight, often supported by expressive guitar lines. The album closes with (coda), a final instrumental, atmospheric track that gently rouds off the record and lets its texture linger.

DECEPTIVE RELATIONSHIPS & HEARTBREAK
Across Saving All Your Kindness, Never Coming Back, Indigo, and Leave The Light On, the album explores relationships shaped by imbalance and disillusionment. Affection feels withheld, intentions remain unclear, and what once felt meaningful slowly reveals itself as something fragile or temporary.

Beyond inner struglles, the album also confronts external pressures. Smile For Me directly challenges sexual harassment and the entitlement behind it. Life Gets Better captures the quiet frustration of having complex struggles reduced to simplistic reassurance, where well-meaning advice expects pain to simply fade with time.

Built on guitars and punctuated by dreamy synth notes, the track pairs a soft, atmospheric melody with darker lyrical undertones. What begins as longing gradually shifts into obsession, with a final disturbing twist that sharply contrasts with the song's hazy soundscape.

EVERYTHING AT ONCE
